Queensland Corrective Services is seeking a Principal Analyst to join the Custodial Operations Modernisation Group within the Custodial Operations Division.

The Custodial Operations Modernisation Group leads statewide operational reform across Queensland correctional centres. The team designs contemporary operating models, workforce and governance frameworks that align centre roles and functions with service delivery, improve operational efficiency, strengthen rehabilitation outcomes and support a sustainable custodial system.

In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate complex reviews, facilitate stakeholder engagement, analyse operational and workforce data, develop options and recommendations, and support implementation of reform initiatives across the custodial system.

Key responsibilities include:

- managing or contributing to strategic projects associated with correctional centre improvement and broader reform initiatives

- supporting governance and reporting arrangements to monitor progress against implementation outcomes
- coordinating designated reform activities that support agency priorities and the Modernisation agenda
- identifying and mitigating key risks through evidence-based project and risk management approaches

- providing advice on project progress, trends, observations and risks
- building robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective delivery of reform initiatives.

The successful applicant will demonstrate experience in managing strategic and operational projects in a large, highly regulated and unionised public sector environment. You will bring strong analytical and reporting skills, sound knowledge of project and risk management frameworks, and the ability to interpret data and project outcomes to support effective decision making. You will also have high level interpersonal and engagement skills, including the ability to build productive relationships, negotiate and influence others on sensitive and complex issues, and contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, evidence-based decision making and personal accountability.

There are no mandatory qualifications for this position; however, a relevant qualification in project, change or program management, or certification in continuous improvement or Lean Six Sigma, would be highly regarded.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
