? Mulgrave, Melbourne (Hybrid — 3 days onsite) | Full-time | Reports to divisional AVP The company is a global leader in analytical science, with a major Melbourne site sitting at the centre of their worldwide spectroscopy capability. Their consumables and chemical standards portfolio, spanning ICP-OES, ICP-MS, atomic absorption and XRF, supports labs across semiconductor, chemical, environmental, mining and industrial markets.
They're hiring a Product Management Lead to run that portfolio and lead the team behind it: product managers and application scientists across Australia, Europe and the US.
This is hands-on, not just strategic oversight. You'll be doing the product management work yourself, pricing, specifications, roadmap, not just directing others through it.
What you'll be doing
- Owning portfolio strategy: pricing, positioning, roadmap, lifecycle from launch to sunset
- Leading and coaching a product management team spread across three continents
- Running voice-of-customer and competitive intelligence to shape what gets built next
- Partnering with R&D; through new product introduction (NPI) — from specification to launch, not just after the fact
- Influencing across to the spectroscopy instruments division to secure shared resources
- Building the sales enablement program that lets a global sales team sell this portfolio properly
What you'll bring
- Inbound product management experience: specifications, pricing, NPI, sales enablement, full lifecycle ownership, not just campaigns and outbound marketing
- Spectroscopy domain experience, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS or XRF specifically. This can come from an instrument manufacturer, a distributor, or a testing lab
- Applied markets exposure: semiconductor, environmental, mining, chemical analysis, or similar
- Demonstrated people leadership, ideally of a dispersed or remote team
- A tertiary qualification in analytical or organic chemistry or a related discipline
- Comfort working across time zones
Robust commercial or marketing backgrounds will be considered where spectroscopy depth is genuinely deep. Minimum 3 days onsite at Mulgrave, this cannot be a remote or interstate role. Competitive base, superannuation, company bonus and health insurance.
