About the Role
This is a hands on procurement role covering the end to end supply chain for a logistics business recent to Australia. You shape the procurement strategy for both goods and services, build the local vendor network and lead tenders, negotiations and contract execution. Day to day you work closely with sales, operations and the warehouse team to align supply arrangements and freight capacity with the business's growth plans.
Site and warehouse execution sit with the operations team, so your focus stays on procurement strategy, supplier relationships and cost outcomes. You'll be supported by a procurement officer to help manage day to day tasks and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a commercially focused procurement strategy covering goods, services and freight
- Use existing industry relationships to identify, onboard and develop new local and international vendors
- Lead end to end tender processes, supplier negotiations and contract execution for both goods and services
- Negotiate supplier pricing, rebates,
trading terms and freight arrangements
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international vendors and service providers
- Review purchasing patterns and replace reactive ordering with structured forecasting
- Manage inbound logistics, freight providers and associated costs
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pricing and service levels
- Work closely with sales, operations and warehouse teams to anticipate demand
- Develop reporting, controls and KPIs across procurement and logistics
- Identify and deliver cost saving initiatives across goods, services and freight spend
About You
- Experience in procurement or background in supply chain, logistics, freight or transport
- Established network of supplier and vendor relationships within the logistics or freight industry (nice to have, not required)
- Strong track record of supplier negotiation and commercial cost management
- Confident using ERP systems, Excel and other business software
- Strong analytical skills, able to translate data into actionable strategy
- Skilled at stakeholder management and cross functional collaboration
- Comfortable leading and influencing both internally and with external vendors
- Conversational to professional Mandarin alongside English, to support communication with stakeholders
