Take hold of a monster opportunity and join Australian Retirement Trust as our Program Specialist, Operational Resilience. You'll help establish the governance, reporting and oversight arrangements that support our CPS 230 obligations, working across the organisation to embed resilient ways of working and deliver clear insights to senior leaders, management committees and Boards.
Description
We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Program Specialist, Operational Resilience, you'll play an important role in establishing and embedding our operational resilience model so Australian Retirement Trust can continue to meet its obligations under CPS 230.
Working within our Risk Enablement team, you'll bring structure, momentum and solid governance to a significant enterprise-wide uplift program. You'll help establish new committees and domain-specific forums, create practical reporting templates, coordinate governance activities and make sure operational incidents and issues affecting critical operations are captured, monitored and reported effectively.
This is an opportunity to work with senior stakeholders across risk, compliance, audit, change and the broader business. Your work will help provide management and Boards with timely, accurate insights while supporting sustainable operational resilience practices across Australian Retirement Trust.
This role is a 12 month fixed-term contract based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Help establish the Operational Resilience Committee and supporting governance arrangements.
- Create and coordinate domain-specific forums covering operational risk management, business continuity management and service provider management.
- Develop terms of reference, membership structures and governance arrangements using established responsibility frameworks.
- Set up and manage committee and forum meeting schedules, agendas, submissions, minutes and action registers.
- Partner with change specialists to develop practical guidelines and templates that support new reporting requirements and governance cadences.
- Develop and implement reporting templates for incidents and issues affecting critical operations.
- Work with operational resilience and Line 1 Risk teams to make sure relevant incidents and issues are captured accurately in the Group Risk and Compliance system.
- Help ensure each recorded incident or issue has an appropriate action plan and is updated regularly.
- Coordinate accurate and timely reporting for management committees, Board committees and other relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate additional reporting requested by internal audit, compliance, regulatory engagement and divisional risk committees.
- Build effective relationships across the organisation and support stakeholders as they adopt new ways of working.
- Identify risks to the integrity of the operating model and escalate them appropriately to senior leaders.
- Help embed CPS 230 requirements into sustainable business-as-usual practices.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You have experience supporting committee structures, company secretariat functions, an Office of the Trustee, FAR-related governance or similar forums.
- Your background includes exposure to operational resilience, technology resilience or related risk initiatives.
- You'll be confident preparing clear, accurate reports for senior executives, management committees or Board members.
- You're experienced in coordinating governance meetings and producing high-quality agendas, minutes and action records.
- You can build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different business areas and levels of seniority.
- Your judgement enables you to identify emerging concerns and escalate matters appropriately when governance or resilience outcomes may be at risk.
- You'll ideally bring familiarity with APRA's prudential framework and regulatory obligations.
- You're familiar with CPS 230, CPS 234, SPS 220 or other relevant prudential standards.
- You have worked in, or closely with, a Line 1 or Line 2 Risk function.
- Your experience includes working in a project delivery environment and helping transition new processes into business-as-usual operations.
- You'll be organised, comfortable managing competing priorities and committed to delivering accurate work within agreed timeframes.
