Arafura is developing the Nolans Rare Earths project in the Northern Territory, a greenfield operation producing the rare earths that will enable the global energy transition and future technologies.

We are moving into delivery and construction under an EPCM model, with a lean Owner's team providing oversight and assurance. We are looking for a Project Manager to lead our Area Managers and take Owner-side accountability for delivering Australia's first fully integrated rare earths processing facility, from design through to commissioning and handover.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the Area Managers as one team, making sure the Areas come together as one integrated plant and holding our EPCM contractor to account for delivering safely, on time, within budget and to quality.

The role is based in Perth with regular travel to site.

What you'll deliver

- Leadership & Integration Lead the Area Managers as a single delivery team, setting explicit priorities and accountabilities, proactively resolving interfaces and competing priorities across Areas before they affect cost or schedule, and developing the team as the project moves into construction.
- Management & Governance Coordinate the Owner's interests across all Areas, represent the Owner at key EPCM control and progress meetings, hold the EPCM contractor to account against contract KPIs, and act for the Project Director as delegated.

Schedule & Risk Management Working with the Area Managers and Project Controls Manager, oversee EPCM cost control, forecasting and schedule performance, and drive early identification and mitigation of execution and interface risks.
- Technical & Engineering. Partner with the Engineering Manager to endorse key design deliverables across the Areas, ensuring they meet Owner standards for operability, maintainability and lifecycle performance.
- Construction, Commissioning & Operations Readiness Oversee construction execution through the Area Managers and partner with the Business and Operations Readiness Lead so commissioning, handover and ramp-up are built into the schedule and the business is ready to run the plant at handover.
- Health, Safety & Environment Provide Owner assurance that the Area Managers and EPCM contractor are delivering safely, testing that critical risk controls are in place and effective, challenging HSE performance and escalating where required, and verifying compliance with our environmental, social and cultural heritage commitments.

What you bring

- 15+ years of senior project leadership in major resources projects, including at least 5 years representing the Owner or EPCM
- A proven track record delivering complex projects, ideally greenfield
