The Opportunity
If you're already performing well as a Project Manager but feel ready for more, this opportunity is worth understanding. Concrete Partnerships is exclusively representing a well-established national construction business looking to appoint an accomplished Project Manager who is ready to step into a Senior Project Manager role within its Sydney operation.
The business has an excellent reputation, a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work and an experienced leadership team that remains genuinely accessible. Operating across commercial, government, education, healthcare, aged care and social infrastructure, they deliver a diverse mix of new build, refurbishment and complex projects.
This isn't intended to be another sideways move. The opportunity is to step into Senior Project Management, take on greater responsibility across projects and teams and, over time, position yourself for broader senior leadership within the business.
The Role
Initially, you will take ownership of your own projects while working closely with senior leadership. As you establish yourself, there is genuine opportunity to broaden your involvement across multiple projects, project teams and wider operational outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end delivery of commercial construction projects
- Leadership of Site Managers, Contract Administrators and project teams
- Programming, procurement and construction methodology
- Commercial management, forecasting and cost control
- Client, consultant and subcontractor management
- Driving programme, safety, quality and financial performance
- Developing and mentoring members of the project team
- Contributing to broader project and operational outcomes
You'll be given the autonomy to lead, while having experienced senior people around you when needed.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in speaking with high-performing Project Managers who are ready to make the step into Senior Project Management. You may currently be with a Tier 1, Tier 2 or respected upper Tier 3 builder, but feel progression has slowed or the structure above you makes your next step difficult to see.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A robust commercial construction delivery background
- New build and/or major refurbishment experience
- Strong programming, procurement and commercial capability
- Proven leadership of project and site teams
- Strong client and stakeholder management
- Sound commercial judgement and problem-solving ability
- The maturity and ambition to take on greater responsibility
- You don't necessarily need the Senior Project Manager title today.
- You need to be operating at a level that shows you're ready for it.
Why Make the Move?
If you're already succeeding as a Project Manager, changing companies should move your career forward, not simply give you a different project to deliver.
For the right person, this opportunity offers:
- The step from Project Manager into Senior Project Manager
- A strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects
- Greater ownership across projects, people and outcomes
- Direct access to experienced senior leadership
- Exposure across multiple projects as your role develops
- Long-term stability with an established national builder
- A highly competitive remuneration package
- Genuine potential to progress into senior leadership
This is an opportunity for someone who wants their next move to change the trajectory of their career, not simply their employer.
You may be happy where you are. You may not even be actively looking.
That's completely fine.
If you're curious about what the next step could look like, I'd welcome a strictly confidential and obligation-free conversation.
