Project Officer Housing

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

- Temporary Full time (until 21 July 2028)
- Located in Eveleigh (with flexible working arrangements available) Regional locations will be considered with regular attendance in Eveleigh
- Competitive salary of $116,981 to $129,492 pa, plus super and leave loading

About The Role The Education Housing Team supports teachers and school leaders across NSW by ensuring that housing is strategically aligned with workforce demand, advocating for improved quality and safety of teacher residences, and continually enhancing the department’s housing portfolio and offerings. Acting as the critical link between the Teacher Housing Authority (Homes NSW) and the Department of Education, the team facilitates effective collaboration and communication to deliver seamless housing solutions. Education Housing Team Operate In Four Key Areas

- providing operational support through rental deductions, subsidy processing, and customer enquiries;
- analysing and planning future service delivery by informing investments and supporting funding bids for improvements such as security upgrades, renovations, new housing supply, and heating and cooling;
- offering strategic and technical advice to other government agencies to influence policy settings and reforms that impact teacher housing; and
- overseeing governance and funding of Department of Education projects to ensure critical needs are addressed across NSW.

The Project Officer (Housing) plays a critical role within the Education Housing team, supporting the delivery of key housing administrative functions and leading transformation projects. The role is responsible for the effective management of teacher housing rental payments and subsidies, and supporting strategic initiatives and business improvements such as implementing audit recommendations, process automation and the development of the Key Worker Housing Authority Operating Model. About You

- Proven ability to efficiently manage and analyse large datasets in Excel, utilising advanced functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.




- Experience in financial reporting.
- Experience delivering projects within agreed timeframes.
- Knowledge of or willingness to obtain knowledge of Property Management software.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
