An exciting opportunity is available for an Aboriginal Project Officer to join the Aboriginal Employee Experience team within People, Culture & Safety. This role will contribute to projects and initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal employment, career development, cultural safety and employee experience across DCCEEW. Reporting to the Manager Aboriginal Employee Engagement, you will provide project management and operational support across a range of initiatives. This includes coordinating projects, undertaking research and analysis, preparing documents and communications, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of the AEX Strategy to create sustainable impacts for DCCEEW
This is an Aboriginal Identified role where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977).
About You
You will bring experience providing project management, program coordination or operational support, together with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural issues and a commitment to improving Aboriginal employment and workforce outcomes.
We’re looking for somebody who can:
- Coordinate and support the delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyse information and develop practical recommendations.
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Contribute to culturally safe and inclusive workplace practices.
- Work collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal staff and communities.
