Primary objective The Project Officer supports the team with stakeholder engagement, providing administration and coordination support, and conducting research.

Industries team helps to build industry capability and diversify the economy by identifying and developing investment opportunities in enabling sectors and critical technologies such as advanced manufacturing, space, technology and AI. We work closely with industry,
research bodies and government to grow capability,
and to attract talent and investment to the Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Build and maintain productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, supporting cooperative engagement and
effective communication across projects and operational activities.
- Conduct research and analysis, preparing high‑quality written materials such as briefings, memorandum, presentations, reports and project updates.
1. Provide high‑level administrative support as required, including document preparation, procurement, financial processes, and
information management.
- Manage competing priorities independently, exercising sound judgement, discretion, and initiative to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ensure compliance with NT Government policies, procedures and systems.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated capability in fostering productive working relationships and networks
with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including demonstrated ability to deliver clear and considered advice and prepare high quality briefings, papers, presentations and Ministerial correspondence.
1. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills with the capacity to prioritise competing requirements,
work under pressure, and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality of work.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve results, responding in a positive and flexible way to changes in priorities.
- Understanding of the digital and/or space sectors, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
Desirable
1. Experience working in government project facilitation or delivery, or in the digital, space or technology sectors.
2. Tertiary qualifications in a field relevant to the role.
