Property Officer

- Level 5 Permanent Position - Starting at $104,776.79 + Super
- 7 weeks leave (4 weeks annual leave, 12 RDOs and 3 wellbeing days)

The City of Marion Property and Facilities Team oversees a diverse property portfolio across the south-west of Adelaide, with more than 130 lease and licence agreements for sporting and community groups, and a range of commercial leases. About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time position based at our City Services facility in Mitchell Park.

Reporting to the Unit Manager, Property and Facilities, you'll manage a diverse range of property matters across Council's community, sporting, and commercial property portfolio.

This is a varied, hands-on property role covering lease and licence management, property transactions, property management, and statutory property processes. You'll work closely with community and sporting clubs, tenants, internal teams and external specialists to support the effective management and use of Council property.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Leasing and property management: Manage community, sporting and commercial leases and licences, including negotiations, documentation, rent reviews, compliance, inspections, invoicing, outgoings and debtor management.
- Property transactions: Manage processes associated with land acquisitions and disposals and work with external specialists including lawyers and surveyors.
- Land and statutory matters: Undertake road opening and closing processes, land management agreements, encroachments and relevant permits and authorisations.
- Tenant and facility matters: Coordinate tenant improvement requests,



maintenance matters and other property requirements across Council's leased portfolio.
- Community land: Assist with the management of Council's Community Land Register and Community Land Management Plans.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build effective relationships with sporting and community clubs, tenants, residents, internal teams and external stakeholders to support good governance and effective use of Council facilities.

What You'll Bring:

- Experience in a property-related role, with relevant experience across areas such as leasing, conveyancing, property management, land transactions, property-related legal matters or asset management.
- Knowledge and experience across property matters such as acquisitions, disposals, land management and statutory property processes.
- Solid negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Confidence interpreting legal documentation and coordinating external advisors.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and documentation.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively, use sound judgement and effectively manage competing priorities.
- A relevant qualification in a property or legal-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience with property or tenancy management systems and the ability to confidently learn and use new technology.

Experience in local government, commercial property management,



or working with community and sporting club assets will be highly regarded.
