Positive Wellbeing Psychology and Psychiatry in Armadale is expanding our private practice. If you are considering a shift into private practice or already have experience in this area, we encourage you to read on.

About Us

We are a highly supportive and well-established private psychology and psychiatry practice located in the tree-lined streets of Armadale. Our boutique practice features three charming, well-lit consulting rooms, a beautiful large waiting room with a fireplace opening onto a courtyard, and is nestled among delightful coffee shops just off Beatty Avenue in Armadale.

Our Values

We are seeking psychologists who align with our core values of:

- Warmth
- Genuine care
- Integrity

Private practice can sometimes feel isolating. At PWPP, we have intentionally developed opportunities for connection, peer consultation, professional development and clinical support, while allowing each psychologist to maintain their own professional identity and areas of interest.

Peer Consultation and Board-Approved Supervision

Optional fortnightly peer consultation provides an opportunity to discuss clinical presentations, share knowledge and engage in reflective practice with other psychologists working within the practice.

Board-approved supervision is also available where appropriate, providing an opportunity for ongoing professional development and support.

Professional Development

PWPP psychologists hold a diverse range of special interests, including ADHD, autism, eating disorders and disordered eating, poor body image, trauma, and therapeutic methodologies such as DBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy and The Gottman Method approaches.

Fortnightly peer consultation provides an opportunity to learn from colleagues across these different areas of practice and can contribute towards professional development requirements.

Tailored Support

Psychologists come to PWPP with different backgrounds, experience and areas of professional interest. Some have established special interests when they commence, while others develop their focus areas over time.

Our practice supports psychologists to continue developing their clinical interests while having access to peer consultation, qualified discussion and practical support.

Matching Referrals to Your Interests

Referrals are considered based on each psychologist’s experience, special interests and preferred therapeutic approaches.

For early-career psychologists, we can also provide opportunities to develop broader clinical experience alongside peer consultation before gradually refining particular areas of interest.

Administration Support

PWPP provides comprehensive administrative support, allowing psychologists to and psychiatrists to focus on clinical work. This includes assistance with Halaxy, client payments,

suitably matched and constant flow of referrals, welcome emails, client agreement forms and intake paperwork.

Streamlined and Efficient Practice Systems

Under Emily’s guidance, PWPP has developed detailed processes and systems designed to make private practice straightforward and efficient.

Accessible templates and therapy resources are available to support clinical work, with processes designed to reduce unnecessary administrative load and allow psychologists to focus on their clients.

Mentorship for Early-Career Psychologists

Emily is committed to supporting early-career psychologists as they develop confidence and clinical experience. Learning is viewed as an ongoing process, with opportunities to reflect, ask questions and gradually develop areas of professional interest.

Referral Choice

PWPP receives referrals from a broad range of sources, allowing psychologists to develop a caseload that reflects their experience and professional interests.

Referrals are considered thoughtfully and directed according to the psychologist’s areas of interest, experience and availability.

Professional Connection and Social Opportunities

There are regular opportunities for psychologists within the practice to connect socially and professionally including our fortnightly peer consultation.

These opportunities are optional and provide a way to build genuine professional connections with other psychologists and allied health professionals.

Beautiful Consulting Rooms

Our practice is located in the leafy streets of Armadale, close to Toorak train station and surrounded by excellent coffee shops and local amenities.
