SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll System Administrator

Are you an experienced SAP Payroll specialist who enjoys owning the system, building new functionality and solving complex payroll challenges?

This is an opportunity for a hands-on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll System Administrator to take ownership of the configuration, administration and stability of an established ECP payroll environment. You will play a central role in supporting reliable pay runs while designing and delivering new payroll functionality as business and compliance requirements evolve.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the SAP ECP landscape, working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance and IT stakeholders.

This is not a maintenance-only position. The successful candidate will be expected to independently configure, build and deliver new payroll functionality.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end administration of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
- Configure and develop payroll schemas, personnel calculation rules, wage types and role-based permissions.
- Build new payroll functionality to support changing business and compliance requirements.
- Manage payroll control records, payroll areas, wage-type valuation, garnishments and off-cycle processing.
- Plan and coordinate SAP SuccessFactors ECP releases, tax and legal updates, patches and regression testing.
- Support parallel payroll runs across multiple pay groups.
- Maintain integrations with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and third-party banking, superannuation and tax providers.
- Monitor payroll performance, data integrity and platform health.




- Troubleshoot complex payroll incidents before they affect critical pay runs.
- Act as the primary escalation point for payroll system incidents and service requests.
- Maintain configuration documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Liaise with SAP support and internal business stakeholders.

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

- At least eight years of overall SAP experience.
- A minimum of five years working with SAP SuccessFactors ECP or on-premise SAP Payroll configuration.
- Hands-on experience configuring payroll schemas, PCRs and wage types.
- Experience as a system administrator on at least one full-cycle SAP SuccessFactors ECP implementation, migration or major upgrade.
- The capability to design and build recent payroll functionality, rather than only supporting existing configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Clear documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- The ability to work independently in a predominantly on-site setting.
- Experience integrating SAP ECP with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central is highly regarded.
