An excellent opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join the Sydney Finance team of a global investment bank for an immediate 6–9 month contract.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a solid grounding in Australian corporate tax and tax accounting who wants broader exposure to tax reporting, governance, controls and process improvement.

You’ll work closely with the Finance team, external tax advisers and senior stakeholders, with plenty of opportunity to take ownership and make improvements to existing processes.

What you’ll be doing:

- Assist with corporate income tax and withholding tax calculations, bookings and reporting
- Support tax reporting requirements for Head Office and the ATO
- Review GL tax coding and strengthen existing controls
- Help document and improve tax processes, controls and governance
- Develop process maps, RACIs and operating procedures
- Work closely with external tax advisers and internal Finance stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing tax processes

What we’re looking for:

- Approximately 3–5 years’ experience across tax and/or accounting




- Good knowledge of Australian corporate tax and tax accounting
- Accounting degree with CA/CPA qualification or progress towards qualification
- Banking or broader financial services experience is highly regarded, but not essential
- Exposure to tax controls, governance or process improvement would be advantageous
- Solid Excel skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work across multiple priorities
