About this opportunity
As Principal Track Engineer, you'll be a recognised technical leader, helping shape the future of Queensland's rail network through major infrastructure projects, asset management initiatives and strategic engineering decisions.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Play a key role in major rail infrastructure projects, including The Wave, Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) and Logan & Gold Coast Faster Rail, helping deliver projects that will support Queensland's future growth.
- Provide whole-of-life asset leadership across the planning, design, delivery,
maintenance and optimisation of Queensland Rail's track infrastructure.
- Influence key engineering decisions through technical governance, design assurance, engineering acceptance and standards development.
- Act as a recognised subject matter expert, providing trusted advice to senior leaders, asset owners and major project teams.
- Represent the discipline in technical forums and leadership discussions, helping shape strategic asset and infrastructure outcomes.
- Partner with maintenance and operational stakeholders to solve complex engineering challenges and improve network performance and reliability.
- Mentor and develop engineers and designers within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by experienced civil, structural and track engineering specialists.

We're looking for an experienced engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to influence, mentor and drive outcomes across a complex asset environment.
- Significant experience in rail track infrastructure design and engineering.
- Strong technical expertise in track design, engineering assurance and asset management principles.
- The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and provide trusted technical advice on complex engineering challenges.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing engineering professionals and technical teams.
- A Bachelor of Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), or eligibility to obtain registration through an existing CPEng or equivalent professional recognition
