Engineering is growing the QA/QC team in our Welshpool machine shop team and we want to hear from machinists ready to move off the machines and into inspection and bring your measuring techniques with you.

About Bossong Engineering

Bossong Engineering is a WA-based engineering and machining business supplying precision-machined components across oil tools, mining, and general engineering scopes. Our machine shop supports customers on drilling tool components, connections, tool joints and subs, mining equipment parts, and one-off and production engineering work.

What you'll be doing

- Inspecting machined components against drawings, customer specifications, and industry standards across oil tools, mining, and general engineering jobs

- Using precision measuring equipment — micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, ring and plug gauges — to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Completing inspection reports and other quality documentation
- Checking material certificates and other supplier documentation against job requirements
- Working closely with machinists,



the Machine Shop Supervisor, and the QA team to keep jobs moving through production without compromising quality
- Picking up non-conformances early and working with the team to resolve them

What we're looking for

- A background in CNC machining or a related trade — you already read drawings and use precision measuring tools, we'll build on that
- A genuine interest in moving into quality inspection and learning the QA/QC side of the business
- A sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to checking your own work
- Valuable written communication — you'll be documenting what you inspect, not just doing it
- Reliable and safety-conscious, and comfortable working to deadlines during busy campaigns A formal QA/QC certification or prior inspection experience is not essential. We'll provide the training and support to build those skills on the job.
