Primary objective The Recruitment and Attraction Officer deliver specialist recruitment, attraction and workforce planning services to the Director of
Public Prosecutions (DPP). The role provides high-level advice and strategic support to managers and selection panels, drives recruitment and attraction initiatives, and contributes to workforce planning and talent management strategies to ensure the DPP attracts, recruits and retains a skilled and diverse workforce.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, selection panels and applicants on recruitment legislation, policies, procedures,
merit selection principles, relocation entitlements and workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities for the DPP, ensuring timely, compliant and effective recruitment outcomes across legal, professional and administrative occupational groups.
- Assist in developing and implementing attraction strategies, recruitment campaigns and candidate engagement initiatives to attract high-quality and diverse talent in response to current and emerging workforce needs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including applicants, recruitment providers,
educational institutions and workforce agencies to support workforce attraction and recruitment outcomes.
- Coordinate bulk recruitment, workforce campaigns and targeted recruitment activities, including development of advertising material, candidate communications and recruitment marketing initiatives.
- Analyse workforce and recruitment data and prepare detailed reports, dashboards and recommendations to support workforce planning, recruitment forecasting and evidence-based decision making.
- Undertake quality assurance reviews of recruitment documentation and processes to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, merit principles and agency policies.
- Review and improve recruitment processes, procedures and guidance materials to enhance service delivery, candidate experience and operational efficiency.
- Maintain organisational establishment information, workforce records and recruitment reporting systems to support accurate workforce analytics and reporting.
Selection criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience delivering specialist recruitment and attraction services,
including management of end-to-end recruitment activities within a complex organisational environment.
- Sound knowledge and application of legislation, policies, merit principles and workforce practices relevant to recruitment and selection within the Northern Territory Public Sector, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement attraction, sourcing and recruitment initiatives that support workforce capability and organisational objectives.
- Highly developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret workforce data, identify trends and provide practical recommendations.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships, influence stakeholders and provide high-level advice to managers, executive leaders and selection panels.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, submissions, briefing papers and recruitment documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruitment activities, competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
- High-level skills in contemporary recruitment systems, workforce reporting and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or a related discipline.
- Experience recruiting specialist skilled occupations within legal, government or professional services environments.
- Understanding of labour market attraction and retention challenges within the Northern Territory.
