As a Brisbane Regional Manager in Environmental Consulting, you’re not walking into an office that needs rescuing. Quite the opposite. You’re taking over the largest regional office of a thriving 40+ person SE Queensland environmental consultancy. Around 34 people sit in Brisbane across Environmental Planning, Approvals, Ecology, Spatial and Landscape Architecture, with experienced Team Leads already running their respective groups.

So the job isn’t to get into everyone’s projects and start rearranging the furniture.

It’s to give good people the environment, commercial direction and leadership they need to keep growing.

The Role

You’ll run the Brisbane region, connecting the operational and commercial pieces across several established environmental teams.

You’ll work closely with Team Leads on the day-to-day health of their groups while keeping your attention on the bigger picture: people, P&L;, resourcing, project performance, clients and where the region goes next.

You’ll

- Lead an office of approximately 34 environmental professionals.
- Work with Team Leads across Planning, Approvals, Ecology, Spatial and Landscape Architecture.
- Oversee regional P&L;, operations, resourcing and broader business performance.
- Help teams navigate growth without losing the warm, collaborative culture that got the business here.
- Maintain oversight of major projects and client relationships without becoming another layer of project management.
- Connect with Regional Managers in Sunshine Coast and NSW, who independently lead their own regions.




- Report into two highly experienced Directors who remain closely connected to technical and industry matters.
- Have support from an Office Manager / EA, rather than spending your week buried in administration.

The project portfolio gives you plenty to get your teeth into: Wind Farms, Solar, BESS, Pipelines, major stadium infrastructure and large-scale residential development. The business has deliberately stayed away from mining.

The Team

This is a small consultancy that has grown quickly without trying to become a miniature version of a Tier 1.

The structure underneath you is already sound. Team Leads know their disciplines and their people, which means this role can actually operate at Regional Manager level rather than becoming a glorified Team Leader.

The culture is warm and team-oriented, but continued growth needs leadership. They’re looking for someone firm but fair who can make decisions, support good people and manage the inevitable growing pains without introducing layers of corporate nonsense.

Experience

- Senior environmental consulting background across areas such as Environmental Planning, Approvals, Ecology or related disciplines.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consultants and navigating business growth or organisational change.
- Commercial capability across P&L;, resourcing, projects, clients and operational performance.
- A leadership style that gives capable people autonomy while still holding a clear line on performance.

Upwards of $200,000 + super , with the final package depending on the experience you bring. ____________________________________
