Make a Difference in Mental Health Nursing Join the Adult Inpatient Mental Health team at Logan Hospital and make a meaningful difference in the lives of consumers. This temporary part-time opportunity offers the chance to deliver compassionate, person-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment while continuing to develop your clinical skills in acute mental health nursing.
About This Role Your new role: Role As a Registered Nurse within the Adult Inpatient Mental Health Units at Logan Hospital, you will provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care to consumers experiencing acute mental health needs.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive, person-centred nursing care that addresses the psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs of consumers.
- Conduct assessments, contribute to risk assessment and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans in collaboration with consumers, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Apply critical thinking, clinical judgement and effective prioritisation to respond to changing consumer and ward needs.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to coordinate care, referrals and ongoing support.
- Promote a safe and secure environment through effective risk management, escalation of concerns and adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
About You We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused mental health care. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, a collaborative approach and a willingness to continue developing your knowledge and skills within an acute adult mental health setting. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of,
or the ability to develop, mental health assessments, including risk assessment, and comprehensive care planning.
- The ability to deliver safe, evidence-based and person-centred care in a mental health inpatient environment.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Critical thinking, clinical decision-making, organisation and time management skills.
- A commitment to reflective practice, lifelong learning, professional development and quality improvement.
- A positive attitude, flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing clinical and operational needs.
