What you'll be doing

As a Registered Nurse – Mental Health Services, you’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care while building therapeutic relationships that promote psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing.

- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate person-centred mental health care in partnership with consumers and the multidisciplinary team.





- Build therapeutic relationships with consumers and their support networks to identify changing needs and enable timely clinical intervention.

- Provide education and health promotion that supports consumers to understand their mental health, manage symptoms and participate in their care.

- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and deliver care in accordance with professional, legislative and organisational requirements.

- Contribute to clinical improvement, contemporary nursing practice, professional development and initiatives that enhance consumer outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

1. Registered Nurse who has completed a new graduate RN program or experience working as a Registered Nurse

2. Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute mental health problem

3.



Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team within minimal direct clinical supervision

4. Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems

5. Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007

6. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding mental health care
7. An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice

8. Current NSW drivers licence
