About the role

5 North is a 20-bed ward specialising in General Medicine, caring for a diverse and complex patient population. The breadth of medical presentations provides our nursing team with the opportunity to develop and utilise a wide range of clinical skills and expertise.

Our nurses are supported to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, with a strong focus on comprehensive general nursing skills, clinical assessment and the early recognition and management of the deteriorating patient. Working within a multidisciplinary team is central to our practice, with nursing, medical, allied health and pharmacy teams collaborating closely to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Accountabilities

- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients with acute and complex medical needs
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care
- Support patients and their families through education, advocacy and transparent communication
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, team-focused ward culture




- Participate in ongoing learning and contribute to clinical excellence

About You

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years acute nursing experience.
- Previous experience in General Medicine is highly desirable
- Solid clinical assessment and patient-centred care skills, with the ability to recognise and respond to the deteriorating patient
- Availability to work a 7-day rotating roster
