Research Assistant - Acute Medicine
Part-time 0.5 EFT | 40 hours per fortnight | 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Primarily based at Box Hill Hospital with travel to Maroondah Hospital and Angliss Hospital as required.

Exciting Opportunity: Research Assistant – Acute Medicine
Join the Acute Medicine team at Eastern Health as a Research Assistant and help advance studies that improve patient outcomes.
In this role, you will work alongside senior physicians and researchers on clinical trials, innovative studies and transformative health services research projects. You will be embedded within a collaborative team of physicians and researchers, learning the practicalities of running clinical studies from the ground up.

Desirable
Formal qualifications in research methodology or related discipline
About you To be successful in this role you will possess A strong interest in acute medicine and health services research.
Research skills in managing participant recruitment and selection, collecting and maintaining trial data, managing records and maintaining clinical databases.
Commitment to uphold the principles of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), ensuring participant safety, data integrity, and ethical conduct across all research activities.
Ability to exercise initiative and work independently under broad direction
Well-developed communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Well-developed time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Acrobat and other digital communication technologies.
A ‘can do’, positive attitude and willingness to support the team as required
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
