About Goldrick

Goldrick Consulting is a boutique executive search firm specialising in the natural resources, energy, infrastructure and technology sectors. We partner with organisations at critical moments of growth, transition and change, helping them make leadership appointments that make a difference.

Our human-centred, relationship-led approach goes beyond traditional search, combining deep sector expertise and rigorous assessment with a genuine understanding of the whole person. Relationships are our business. We take the time to understand what actually matters to a client and to a candidate, because the appointments we work on are rarely straightforward and the consequences of getting them wrong are significant.

We don't just operate within our industries, we embed ourselves within them. Beyond broad sector coverage, we build a detailed, sometimes hyper-specific understanding of our clients' domains, their priorities and the pressures they are under. That depth is what allows us to place leaders who have the right experience and the judgement to shape what comes next.

Four values guide how we work, and how we hire:

- Human. We think and act human first.
- Curious. We are committed to the pursuit of knowledge.
- Courageous. We push boundaries to break new ground.
- Resilient. We are relentless in our delivery.

The role

Research sits at the centre of every search we run. It shapes who a client considers, and it underpins the quality of the advice we give.

Modern research tools have extended the reach and depth of a search. Applied well, they help us identify the right candidates faster and give clients sharper insight into their market. The questions that shape a search still sit with us: which sources hold up under scrutiny, what genuinely sits behind a strong track record, and what a client should read into the way a market is responding. Working those questions through, and forming a view a client can act on, is the core of the role.

As Research Consultant, you will use research technology to map markets and talent pools efficiently, then apply sector knowledge,

critical thinking and verification to convert that work into decision-ready insight and recommendations for the consulting team and our clients.

The role is outward-facing. You will approach and engage prospective candidates, build relationships with industry sources, and contribute to client conversations and materials, with the balance of that engagement varying by assignment and by client.

Over time, you will take increasing ownership of research execution within our assignment delivery methodology, and have meaningful influence over how that methodology develops.

What you'll do

- Map markets and talent pools for each assignment, using research technology with skill and judgement, and verifying findings before they reach the consulting team or a client.
- Approach and engage prospective candidates, from first contact through to longlist, and build relationships that generate insight the technology cannot.
- Gather market intelligence directly from industry sources, and present it in a form clients and consultants can act on.
- Build targeted knowledge of the natural resources, energy, infrastructure and technology sectors, with a particular focus on mining and minerals and on progressive themes such as leadership, technology adoption and sustainability.
- Support client-facing work, including briefing documents, market intelligence updates and candidate longlists.
- Maintain the accuracy, currency and integrity of all research output, and curate market intelligence in our CRM so it compounds across assignments.
- Contribute to the development of our research methodology, processes and tools.

What you'll bring

- Executive search research experience,

or white collar recruitment experience with strong market engagement and communication skills.
- Knowledge of mining, minerals, resources or industrial technology, or a demonstrated ability to build deep sector knowledge quickly.
- Strong analytical capability and critical thinking in how you apply technology: selecting the right tool for the task, testing what it returns, and verifying against primary sources.
- The confidence to engage senior people in the market, and the care and empathy to do it well.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and a high standard of attention to detail.
- Sound judgement, discretion and ownership of your work.
- Comfort working in a boutique practice where priorities shift and initiative is expected.

Why Goldrick

We are a specialist practice entrusted with senior leadership appointments where leadership makes the difference. For the person in this role, that means:

- Working on senior and C-suite appointments across the natural resources, energy, infrastructure and technology sectors, with visibility of each assignment from brief through to appointment rather than a single stage of it.
- Direct involvement with candidates and clients, including the relationships you build and the engagement that sits around them.
- Ownership and contribution across the critical phases of a search, including attraction strategy, targeting, assessment and client reporting, working alongside experienced search practitioners throughout.
- Exposure beyond the core research function. In a boutique practice, the intelligence you gather informs how we approach the market, supports our business development and marketing, and gives you early sight of where opportunities are emerging.
- Investment in the research technology you use and the time it takes to become genuinely good with it, with your view sought on what we should adopt next.
- Real influence over how our research function develops, because in a practice of our size the way the work is done is shaped by the people doing it.

We offer hybrid working, based in our office in the Perth CBD.
