About the role

As part of the Restaurant & Bars team at InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef, you'll work across breakfast, dining and bar experiences, delivering warm, engaging and intuitive service to guests. Set amongst the iconic Whitsunday Islands, this role offers the opportunity to build your hospitality career while experiencing an extraordinary island lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver memorable and personalised guest experiences across restaurants and bars
- Work across food and beverage service across venues
- Take orders, serve food and beverages, prepare cocktails and confidently make menu and beverage recommendations
- Bring menus to life through knowledge of food, wine, cocktails and beverage offerings
- Anticipate guest needs and look for opportunities to elevate their experience
- Work closely with your team to deliver seamless service
- Maintain the presentation and service standards expected within a luxury resort




- Support special events, functions and unique island dining experiences as required

About you

- A genuine flair for service and a natural ability to build rapport with guests
- Previous hospitality experience in a restaurant, bar, hotel or resort environment, with cocktail preparation experience highly regarded
- Versatile hospitality professionals who are confident working across both bar and floor/restaurant service
- Immaculate presentation and grooming, with an understanding of the standards expected in a luxury hospitality environment
- A current Queensland RSA certificate is essential
- You must have full Valid Australian working rights with no hours restrictions
- For WHV applicants you must have a visa that allows you to work until at least 1 March 2027. Candidates who do not have working rights past 1 March 2027 will not be considered for the next onboarding dates.
- All applicants must be available to commence on one of the upcoming onboarding dates: 28 September, 12 October or 26 October 2026
