Role Overview:
We are opening a brand new bottle shop in Sandgate and looking for Retail Bottle Shop Assistants to join our team. You’ll be the face of our independent liquor retail business helping customers find the right products while ensuring the responsible service of alcohol.
This casual role is ideal for someone who is friendly, reliable and customer-focused and who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment. You’ll be assisting with sales, merchandising, stock handling, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers, providing product recommendations, and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, including cash handling and EFTPOS transactions.
- Ensure compliance with Queensland liquor licensing laws, including checking identification and refusing service where required.
- Replenish stock, rotate products, and maintain attractive merchandise displays.
- Receive, unpack, and store stock deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock or damaged products to management.
- Maintain store cleanliness and presentation, ensuring shelves, fridges, and displays are well organised.
- Assist with promotional activities, product tastings, and seasonal merchandising where required.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
- Support opening and closing procedures, including store security and end-of-day reconciliation.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Previous retail or hospitality experience
- Extensive craft beer knowledge proffered
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting cartons, restocking shelves, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer and POS system skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Well presented
