Retail Store Manager – Bottlemart

Queens Hotel Gladstone | Full-Time | Gladstone, QLD | $80,000–$90,000 per annum Queens Hotel Gladstone is seeking an experienced, hands-on Retail Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and performance of one of our Bottlemart retail stores in Gladstone.

This is a key full-time management position for someone who understands that successful retail management is about more than simply running a shift. We are looking for someone who can lead a team, manage stock, control costs, drive sales and maintain exceptional presentation and customer service standards.

The successful applicant will take ownership of their store while working closely with our Retail Operations Manager and the broader Queens Hotel Gladstone management team.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Bottlemart store
- Lead, supervise, support and roster retail staff
- Monitor staffing requirements and assist with recruitment, onboarding and training
- Manage stock levels, ordering, receiving and inventory control
- Liaise with suppliers and coordinate stock purchasing
- Monitor product ranges, stock movement and slow-moving lines
- Maintain strong merchandising and store presentation standards
- Monitor sales performance, margins and opportunities to grow revenue
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service
- Implement Bottlemart promotions, pricing and retail campaigns
- Ensure promotional displays and ticketing are accurate and delivered on time
- Monitor labour, expenditure and other controllable costs
- Maintain appropriate operational and financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and retail performance
- Ensure all relevant liquor licensing,



business and operational requirements are followed
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on sales, staffing, stock and store performance
- Work collaboratively with the wider retail and Queens Hotel management teams
- Take ownership of the overall presentation, standards and performance of the store

About You

The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous experience in retail management or a senior retail supervisory position
- Liquor retail experience will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff
- Strong stock, ordering and inventory-management skills
- An understanding of retail sales, margins, labour and cost control
- Strong merchandising and store-presentation standards
- Valuable organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Confidence managing competing operational priorities
- A practical and hands-on management style
- The ability to identify issues and take ownership of solutions
- The ability to work independently while forming part of a broader management team
- A genuine focus on growing sales and improving the customer experience
