About the role
Aplus Nursing Agency is seeking compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals to join our team as an RN & EEN hospital trained Female Support Worker/EEN-Disability. This is a casual position based in Launceston, TAS 7250, offering flexible work opportunities within the aged and disability support sector. As a casual employee, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that suit your schedule while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support and care.
This role is crucial in providing quality, person-centred care to vulnerable members of our community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and support to individuals within aged and disability support services
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and toileting
- Support clients with mobility and physical assistance as required
- Monitor and report on clients' health, wellbeing and any changes in condition
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client information
- Collaborate with other team members and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Respond compassionately to clients' emotional and social needs
- Assist with medication management and medical procedures as appropriate to your qualifications
- Uphold confidentiality and dignity of all clients at all times
What we're looking for
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EEN)
in Australia
- Hospital training and experience in acute care settings
- Experience working in aged care and/or disability support services
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, person-centred care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients, families and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Current Working with Children/Vulnerable People checks (or willingness to obtain)
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work casual shifts, including weekends and public holidays if required
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and best practice in healthcare
- Female support worker background is preferred for this role
