Risk and Compliance Manager Full-time | Commencing Term 1, 2027

Kilvington Grammar School is an independent ELC–12 co-educational school in Melbourne, renowned for its strong academic program, inclusive culture, and commitment to developing the whole student. We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive Risk and Compliance Manager to lead and enhance the School’s risk management, compliance and workplace health and safety frameworks.

This pivotal role is responsible for identifying, assessing and monitoring organisational risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, overseeing workplace health and safety systems, supporting child safety obligations, and maintaining the School’s policy and compliance frameworks. Working closely with the School Executive and key stakeholders, the Risk and Compliance Manager will play a critical role in promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and risk awareness across the School.

The role is full-time and has an entitlement of 5 weeks' annual leave per annum.

The successful candidate will

- Lead the School’s risk management framework, including maintaining the risk register and monitoring risk controls.
- Manage workplace health and safety systems, incident investigations, WorkCover processes and emergency management planning.
- Coordinate the School’s compliance obligations, including policy management, regulatory requirements and VRQA compliance activities.
- Support and promote child safety compliance in accordance with Victorian legislation and Child Safe Standards.




- Develop and deliver training programs to build staff awareness of risk, compliance and workplace safety responsibilities.
- Provide expert advice and reports to the School Executive and relevant committees on risk, compliance and safety matters.

About You You will be a collaborative and solutions-focused professional with strong analytical, organisational and communication skills. You will have the ability to build effective relationships across the School and confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and professionalism.

Relevant qualifications in Risk Management, Workplace Health and Safety, Business, Law or a related discipline will be viewed favourably. Significant relevant experience in risk management, compliance, governance, workplace safety or a similar field may be considered in place of formal qualifications.

Requirements The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate:

- Experience in risk management, compliance, governance or workplace health and safety.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to schools or comparable organisations.
- Solid policy development, audit and reporting experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High-level organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
