Mental Health Nurse – Neami National | Alice Springs

- Location: Alice Springs, NT
- Working within a Medicare Mental Health Centre
- Provide accessible, person-centred mental health support to people experiencing distress or mental health concerns.
- Complete mental health assessments, risk assessments and safety planning.
- Provide clinical interventions, brief interventions and crisis support.
- Monitor consumers’ mental health presentation and identify changes in clinical risk or support needs.
- Provide mental health education and support around medication, wellbeing and recovery within nursing scope of practice.
- Develop and review individual care and recovery plans.
- Support people with complex and co-occurring mental health needs, including AOD where relevant.




- Coordinate referrals and connect consumers with appropriate health, mental health and community services.
- Liaise with GPs, hospitals, psychiatrists and other service providers to support continuity of care.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside the Clinical Lead, Clinicians, Peer Workers and other Mental Health Nurses.
- Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and culturally protected care, including working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Maintain clinical documentation, case notes and reporting requirements.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews and team meetings.
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse required.
- Mental health/community mental health experience highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, crisis response, de-escalation and stakeholder engagement skills.
