Prospero Teaching is partnering with a well-regarded independent faith-based school in Melbourne’s northern suburbs to recruit a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher for the 2027 academic year.

The Role
The successful Science Teacher will join the school’s teaching team on a full time contract commencing January 2027 and continuing until the end of the academic year.
You will be responsible for:
- Teaching Science across Years 7–12, with flexibility depending on experience and subject specialism
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated and curriculum-aligned lessons
- Developing students’ scientific knowledge, inquiry skills and critical thinking
- Delivering practical experiments and maintaining high laboratory safety standards
- Creating an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Monitoring student progress and supporting academic development
- Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum planning and faculty initiatives
- Contributing to the broader life of the school and its community
- Supporting the school’s values and commitment to student wellbeing
Teachers with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics are particularly encouraged to apply.

- Confident teaching across secondary year levels
- Able to deliver practical and laboratory-based learning
- Skilled in lesson planning, differentiation and assessment

- Adaptable and willing to contribute to the wider school community
Graduate teachers and experienced educators are both encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Relevant secondary teaching qualification — B.Ed, M.Teach, PGCE or equivalent
- VIT registration or eligibility to obtain
- Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum
- Ability to teach Science across secondary year levels
- Confidence delivering practical and laboratory-based lessons
- Commitment to student engagement, wellbeing and academic progress
- Two skilled child-related referees
