Role Description The Security Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gold Coast, QLD. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and related monitoring equipment on construction sites and commercial premises.

Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine inspections, testing and commissioning systems, and ensuring all installations comply with safety and regulatory standards.

The Security

Technician works closely with security patrols, guards,



and site management teams to support effective incident response and ongoing site protection. The role also involves documenting work performed, updating service records, and communicating clearly with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, including fault diagnosis and resolution for electronic security systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in alarm systems and CCTV installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of network security and cybersecurity fundamentals as they apply to connected security devices and monitoring platforms.
- Candidates should possess understanding of occupational health and safety (OH&S;) requirements related to on-site work in building and construction environments.
- Relevant trade or technical qualifications in electronics, telecommunications, or security systems are beneficial.
- Experience working on construction or commercial sites and familiarity with Australian security standards and regulations is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- Current driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks or security clearances as required.
