Most fraud analytics focuses on money leaving a customer's account.

This team works the other side of the transaction: the accounts receiving it. We find the mule and recipient accounts that scam and fraud proceeds flow into, and we shut that pathway down.

- Partner across the fraud portfolio so the full mule journey is covered, from account opening to funds dispersal.

In this Senior Analyst Inbound Monitoring, role you will join the Fraud Operations Team within Financial Crime and Fraud that’s doubling down on customer obsession.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to support with:

- Design, build, test and tune inbound, mule and recipient detection: rules, features and monitoring, including post-implementation performance review.
- Analyse mule typologies (complicit and unwitting mules, identity-takeover and account-handover mules) and translate those findings into deployable detection strategies.
- Make inbound alerts actionable by working closely with Fraud Operations, so alerts are well-prioritised and supported by clear insight at the point of investigation.




- Drive measurable improvement in inbound detection and prevention, targeting loss reduction, mule disruption, customer protection and other agreed KPIs.
- Work across the portfolio: with account-opening fraud analytics and with scam, digital and card fraud analysts, so end-to-end mule journeys are covered without duplicating effort.
- Deliver reporting and visual analytics on inbound monitoring, mule detection and recipient risk, in line with agreed priorities and timelines.

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

- 3+ years in an analytics role applying data science methodologies to real operational problems.
- Strong SQL and Python, with demonstrated experience in database analysis and reporting. Exposure to other programming languages such as Java is welcome.
- Understanding of digital payments (NPP, Osko BPay, PayTo, IMT, RTGS, internal transfers and account-to-account inbound flows) and how they surface in mule and recipient detection.
- Understanding of card transactions from an issuer perspective, and card-related inbound typologies.
- Experience with rule-based detection and fraud engines such as behavioural profiling, decisioning rules, thresholds,



sequencing, overrides and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with the obligations placed on receiving banks under the Scams Prevention Framework (SPF Act), where scam funds are received, moved or dispersed.

A background in fraud or financial crime is valuable, but we'll also consider strong analysts from adjacent domains who are genuinely interested in this problem space. A diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone
