What You'll Be Doing
As the Senior Communications Adviser*, you’ll partner with teams across Coal LSL to plan and deliver clear, engaging and effective communications for our stakeholders. You’ll provide advice and lead projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring our communications are purposeful, accessible and increase awareness of the Coal LSL scheme.
You Will
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand communication needs and provide practical, strategic advice on communication approaches, audience needs, messaging, channels and opportunities to improve engagement
- Plan, design and manage targeted external communications and engagement campaigns across a variety of channels including digital, social, email, web, print and video
- Work with subject matter experts to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible communications
- Contribute to the development and ongoing review of community engagement and communication strategies and support operational plans
- Support the management and continuous improvements of Coal LSL’s external communication channels
- Manage external agencies and suppliers where required, ensuring work is delivered to brief, on time and in line with the Coal LSL brand
- Use insights, data and feedback to evaluate communications and identify opportunities for improvement
*This role is internally known as Senior Community Engagement Adviser. The title has been changed for advertising purposes only. This is a 12-month parental leave contract role, based in Newcastle.

What You'll Bring
You’ll be an experienced communications professional, with a proven ability to develop and deliver communications and engagement campaigns and turn complex information into clear, engaging communications.
Your Background Will Demonstrate Your
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and simply
- Experience planning and delivering communications and engagement campaigns across multiple channels
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence across teams involved in delivering or supporting initiatives
- Confidence to take ownership of and drive initiatives and stakeholder experience, seeking support, advice and guidance as needed
- Experience developing communications for different channels, audiences and objectives
- Genuine interest and passion in how digital tools and emerging technologies can improve communication and stakeholder experiences
- Collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts, colleagues, agencies and suppliers
- Experience using insights, data and feedback to evaluate communications activities their impact to improve future approaches
You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Postgraduate qualifications or certifications such as Certificate of Engagement will be highly regarded.
