The Opportunity

Help protect and enhance Noosa’s unique natural environment by leading private-land conservation initiatives across the shire. In this rewarding role, you'll work closely with landholders, community groups and government agencies to expand conservation partnerships, protect biodiversity and deliver meaningful environmental outcomes for future generations.

- $109,838 base annual salary
- $124,675 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You

You're an experienced environmental professional with a passion for conservation and community engagement. You bring strong technical knowledge, project management expertise and the ability to build effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.



With a collaborative approach and a commitment to environmental stewardship, you thrive in roles that deliver lasting conservation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and expand private-land conservation programs, including Voluntary Conservation Agreements and Land for Wildlife initiatives
- Provide specialist environmental and land management advice to landholders, stakeholders and Council
- Develop environmental management plans, conservation agreements and restoration projects for private properties
- Coordinate and manage environmental projects, contractors and resources to deliver agreed conservation, restoration and environmental offset outcomes within scope, budget and required timeframes
- Build partnerships, secure funding opportunities and manage projects that support biodiversity conservation and protected area expansion

Skills and Experience

- Extensive experience delivering private-land conservation programs and environmental management initiatives
- Strong knowledge of biodiversity conservation, plant identification, ecological restoration, natural resource management and land stewardship practices
- Experience developing environmental management plans, conservation agreements and partnership projects
- High-level stakeholder engagement, consultation and negotiation skills
- Experience managing projects, budgets, contractors and grant-funded initiatives
- Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills




- Experience delivering community education, workshops and environmental awareness programs

Qualifications

- Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Science or a related discipline
- Current C Class Driver Licence
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using the Enquire Land for Wildlife database highly regarded
- GIS experience and First Aid certification highly regarded
