In this role, you will: Working closely with a Senior Commercial Manager, the Senior Contracts Specialist will help support in the delivery of the Opal Next Gen (ONG) Program. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of contracts and commercial agreements, whilst providing commercial support to procurement activities as required.
Key responsibilities include maintaining contract registers and proactively monitoring agreement obligations, milestones, deliverables, invoices, liquidated damages, and compliance requirements. You will also prepare, review, and draft contractual notices, scope documents, and other commercial agreements, ensuring all governance, approval, and sign-off processes are followed. In addition, you will review and process payment claims, coordinate contract administration activities, and prepare for and participate in contract management, supplier, and internal stakeholder meetings to support effective contract performance and delivery outcomes.
The Opal Next Gen (ONG ) program refers to the full modernisation of the Opal ticketing system to deliver smarter, digital-first, integrated public transport across NSW.

About You: For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:
- Ideally 3-5 years contract management experience, with responsibility for commercial aspects,
including contract preparation, negotiation, administration, dispute resolution, and reporting
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong compliance and governance focus, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements
- Strong Microsoft skills, with advanced capabilities in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint to support reporting, data analysis, document management, and administrative processes
This is a fixed-term role until 30th September 2027 . This role is based in a hybrid environment, with 50% of your time spent in the office. Every Monday, you will typically work from our CBD office, and every Thursday from our Macquarie Park office. This is a Grade 8 role, paying between $141,678.00 - $158,677.00 + super . The grade level will be assessed based on your relevant skills, experiences, capabilities, and qualifications etc.
