Digital Metro North has an opportunity for a technical expert in the analysis, design, support and maintenance of an enterprise RDBMS environment, resolving complex ICT and database issues. Ability to develop and implement technical solutions and improvements to ensure a robust, fit-for-purpose RDMS environment that meets business processes, technical standards and software licensing requirements.
Digital Metro North is the technology and digital delivery arm of Metro North Health, Australia's largest hospital and health service. The team works closely with clinicians and partners including eHealth Queensland to deliver the systems, infrastructure and support that enable protected, high-quality patient care every day.
Driving a significant digital transformation agenda, Digital Metro North is currently implementing the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across the health service, delivering major digital initiatives under the Queensland Government's Hospital Rescue Plan, and executing the three-year Digital Delivery Plan. These programs are shaping a connected, digital-first healthcare environment that supports new models of care, improves patient outcomes and enhances clinician experience.
About the Role
- Reporting to the Manager Digital Infrastructure, you will provide high level technical expertise in the support of the Digital Metro North (DMN) enterprise Structured Query Language (SQL) server environment, including the build and configuration of SQL databases in accordance with agreed solution designs to ensure outcomes are met and ongoing service levels achieved.
The ideal candidate has proven high-level database administration skills to support the delivery of DMN digital infrastructure and Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) systems and infrastructure.
- This role is temporary full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am – 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
Key knowledge and experience The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- High level of competency with three or more years' experience in the technical support of database administration services, information systems, technical problem solving and the formulation of database solutions in large, complex organisations preferably in the health care sector.
- High level of competency in ICT change management, (ITIL v4 or higher) evaluating risks to the integrity of infrastructure, continuous improvement to organisational procedures governing change management, technical problem solving, the application of professional judgement and the formulation of technical solutions.
- Demonstrated experience and technical skills in:
- database administration and support of all current and supported versions of enterprise RDBMS including Microsoft® SQL Server 2022, and legacy end-of life versions i.e. 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 etc.
- analysis,
design and implementation of database infrastructure and services.
- Microsoft® Windows fail-over clustering and SQL Server Availability Groups for resilience and disaster recovery (DR)
- SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, SSRS and SSIS packages.
- migration of databases from previous SQL versions to latest releases.
- Demonstrated experience in the effective use of the ITIL processes including Change Management, Capacity Planning, Incident and Problem Management.
