Intandem Building Services is a growing commercial plastering and internal linings contractor delivering projects across Melbourne.

Our work includes commercial fit-outs, partition walls, suspended ceilings, feature ceilings, plasterboard linings and other specialist interior packages. We are strengthening our estimating and project delivery capabilities and are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Senior Estimator will independently manage and prepare accurate, competitive and commercially sound tenders.

You will be responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, completing take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, developing cost plans, identifying tender risks and preparing clear quotation scopes.

You will also support tender clarifications, attend selected site inspections and assist with the handover of awarded projects to our contracts and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently prepare detailed estimates for commercial plastering, ceilings, partitions and internal linings packages.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, tender addenda and other project documentation.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs and cost plans.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Price labour, materials, equipment, deliveries, wastage and other project-specific costs.
- Confirm all inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, qualifications and scope interfaces.
- Identify missing information, documentation conflicts and scope gaps and raise timely RFIs.
- Assess programme requirements, access restrictions, staging, working hours and other construction constraints.
- Identify low-margin,



high-risk or technically complex elements and provide recommendations to the Estimating Manager.
- Prepare tender clarifications, revised quotations and value-management options.
- Follow up on assigned tenders and obtain feedback regarding pricing, scope and tender outcomes.
- Attend site inspections and client clarification meetings where required.
- Maintain accurate tender records, supplier pricing and historical cost information.
- Compare completed-project costs against tender allowances and contribute to continuous pricing improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior estimators and take-off staff.
- Prepare complete tender handover information following project award, including final pricing, scope, quotations, assumptions and identified risks.
- Work collaboratively with the Estimating Manager, CA, and Site Manager.

About You To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

- At least five years’ estimating experience within Australian commercial construction.
- Relevant experience in commercial plastering, internal linings, partitions, ceilings or fit-out packages.
- Strong knowledge of labour productivity, material requirements and installation methods.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex tenders from initial review through to final submission.
- Strong drawing-reading,



quantity take-off and cost-planning skills.
- Valuable understanding of construction programmes, tender risks and subcontract conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify scope gaps and pricing risks.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam and relevant estimating software.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tender deadlines.
- A practical, accountable and commercially focused approach.
- Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin is required.
- Full Australian working rights.

Qualifications A qualification in building and construction, quantity surveying, construction management or a related discipline is preferred. However, substantial relevant industry experience will also be considered. What We Offer
