Civcon Civil & Project Management is a Western Australian Civil Construction and Project Management company seeking a Senior Estimator a minimum of 8 years experience to join our team. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding service to our clients and understanding their needs and requirements, managing and delivering projects to quality standards.
Due to continuing growth, we require a Senior Estimator on a full-time permanent basis at our West Perth head office.
The successful candidate will work closely with the construction and tendering team, you will have a proven track record in winning, earthworks, underground services and road work tenders.
As Senior Estimator, you will be required to provide technical services, support and required to complete tenders or bids by way of building up rates, schedules, quantities and pricing ensuring that all key conditions of the tender are complied with whilst ensuring all tender pricing is supplied in time for the tender submission.
You will be required to ensure that costs estimates are transcribed clearly with our estimating software Expert Estimator.
Your Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with the Estimating Manager regarding the decision to tender on specific projects
- First principal estimation for earthworks, roadworks, underground services, Department of Defence and mining from $1M up to $40M
- Preparation when required and review of tender programs in a Ghant chart format via Microsoft Project or similar software.
- Preparation of technical clarifications
- Review tender documents and help submit request for information (RFI).
- Undertake risk and opportunity analysis strategies for each tender
- Use Bluebeam to undertake quantity take-offs when required or to confirm BOQ provided at time of tender.
- Preparation when required and review of methodologies.
- Site visits and tender briefings when required
- Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers for quotes and relevant information regarding the tender, e.g. lead times, durations, numbers or personnel etc…
- Set and lead tender review meetings and ensure tender documentation are ready for review.
- Assist other estimators when required with gathering information for tenders
- Keeping the Estimating Manager and construction manager informed of the status of tenders
Your Background:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in first principle estimation for civil earthmoving, underground services, road works, mining, Department of Defence, Local government and Government projects, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Highly developed planning and negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills; ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
- Good interpersonal relations; ability to liaise in a professional manner with internal and external Clients
- Proficient with the MS Office Suite and MS Project
- Experience desirable using Expert Estimating
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team workplace
