About The Role Austin Health is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide expert financial analysis, reporting and planning support to drive informed decision-making and strong financial stewardship across the organisation.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the role is responsible for delivering robust month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes and acts as second-in-charge to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis.
The position also plays a key role in advancing the Finance function’s digital transformation and continuous improvement agenda, supporting the implementation and optimisation of financial systems, reporting tools and analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities The Senior Financial Analyst will:
- Support continuous improvement across organisational processes, systems, reporting and planning capabilities
- Act as second-in-charge to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis as required
- Lead the design, development and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions, dashboards and self-service analytics
- Develop and optimise Power BI datasets, data models and reporting frameworks
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and planning processes
- Undertake expenditure, FTE and financial performance analysis against budget and forecast
- Prepare and maintain month-end and management reporting packs
- Lead annual budget and forecast rollover processes
- Support long-term financial planning, including the organisational five-year financial plan
- Support the implementation and ongoing administration of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)
- Coordinate budget, month-end reporting and forecasting processes
- Develop costing tools and provide analytical support to Finance Business Partners
- Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational leaders to develop meaningful financial and operational performance dashboards
- Provide support and training to stakeholders using budgeting, forecasting and reporting systems
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, accounting, economics, law, administration, finance or a similar discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing and enhancing Power BI reports, dashboards and self-service reporting solutions
- Strong Power BI data modelling skills, including datasets, semantic models, data transformations and reporting frameworks
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX formulas and cube functions
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends, issues and opportunities
- Experience providing budget advice and financial management support
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and budget services
- The ability to undertake sophisticated costing analyses
- Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
- Initiative and the ability to develop innovative solutions to problems
