Senior Hydraulic Test Technician / Auto Electrician | $58 p/hr + super

Are you an experienced Auto Electrician with a strong hydraulic background who enjoys diagnosing faults, solving technical problems, and ensuring high-performance machinery leaves the workshop operating at its best?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Test Technician to join a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment. This is a critical position responsible for the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, modification, and quality assurance of complex machinery before customer delivery.

Your new role

Reporting to the Production Manager, your primary responsibility will be the comprehensive testing and commissioning of hydraulic and electro-mechanical equipment.

You will play a key role in identifying faults, implementing corrective actions, making modifications where required, and working closely with production teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

When testing requirements are lower, you will provide support across mechanical assembly and auto-electrical fit-out activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct functional testing and commissioning of completed machines and equipment
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and control system faults
- Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions
- Modify and improve machine systems to resolve performance issues
- Perform hydraulic pressure, flow and operational testing
- Troubleshoot CANBUS, wiring, sensors, actuators and control systems
- Complete quality inspections and pre-delivery testing procedures




- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve product reliability

What you'll need to succeed

- Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician, Heavy Vehicle Electrician or similar
- Extensive hands-on experience with hydraulic systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience testing heavy equipment, mobile plant, construction equipment, truck-mounted equipment or industrial machinery
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics and electrical drawings
- Strong understanding of pumps, valves, cylinders, hydraulic circuits and control systems
- Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes

Highly regarded

- Experience with truck-mounted equipment
- Mobile plant or construction equipment experience
- Knowledge of PLCs, CANBUS systems or machine controls
- Mechanical fitting experience
- High Risk Licences or Heavy Vehicle qualifications
