We are working with one of Australia’s leading property developers and builders, specialising in the delivery of large-scale residential, mixed-use, commercial, and master-planned communities. Renowned for creating award-winning mixed-use communities through an integrated approach to development, design, construction, and project delivery, the business currently has a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of landmark projects underway.

The Role

Due to its significant and growing development pipeline, our client is seeking a dynamic Legal Counsel (Real Estate) to join its established in-house legal team.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will work closely with an experienced executive and commercial team, providing strategic legal advice across a diverse range of high-value property development matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Advising on acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development, construction, and financing transactions
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of property and commercial agreements (including joint venture agreements, project delivery agreements, confidentiality agreements, and agency agreements)
- Managing and coordinating legal due diligence for acquisitions and development projects
- Partnering with senior internal stakeholders across the business and managing external advisers




- Overseeing and completing PEXA transactions
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the legal team

Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in property law, gained from a leading private practice property team or high-performing in-house team
- Strong experience with PEXA
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor junior lawyers
- Exposure to commercial and construction matters (preferred but not essential)
- The ability to work autonomously while also contributing as part of a collaborative and high-performing team
