Senior Network Engineer – Cisco ACI & Fortinet

Technical skills:

- Strong recent, hands-on experience with Cisco ACI in complex enterprise or data centre environments (APIC, leaf/spine architecture, tenants, VRFs, Bridge Domains, EPGs, contracts and filters, L2Out/L3Out, fabric policies, Multi-Pod/Multi-Site).
- Robust hands-on experience administering Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (firewall policies, NAT, IPsec and SSL VPN, HA, security profiles, FortiManager and/or FortiAnalyzer).
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, plus strong TCP/IP and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking (VLANs, VRFs, segmentation, high-availability architectures).
- Strong network troubleshooting using packet captures, logs and diagnostic tools, with root-cause analysis and permanent remediation.




- Experience implementing changes in production environments using formal change-management processes.
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills

Mandatory Experience -

- Fortinet SASE (FortiSASE)
- Fortinet firewall suite (FortiGate)
- Cisco ACI

Desirable previous experience of:

- Cisco certifications (CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise or CCIE) and/or Fortinet certifications (FCP, FCSS or NSE equivalent).
- Cisco Nexus switching and VXLAN/EVPN.
- Integrating ACI with Fortinet or other next-generation firewall platforms.
- Network automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform or REST APIs.
- Cloud networking across Azure and/or AWS.
- Government, Defence or critical infrastructure environments, including knowledge of the Australian Government ISM and Essential Eight.
