Details: The ACT Parks and Conservation Service is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the position of Senior Park Ranger.

Based at the Cotter Depot, the Senior Park Ranger for the Murrumbidgee River Corridor (MRC) plays a key leadership role in delivering reserve management, conservation, and visitor services programs across the Murrumbidgee River Corridor, northern Namadgi National Park, and associated ACT unleased territory lands.

As the Senior Park Ranger, you will lead and supervise a team of Rangers, ensuring the effective delivery of operational programs that protect and enhance the natural and cultural values of the region. You will provide leadership in conservation management, visitor services, stakeholder engagement, and reserve operations while contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

- Prior to commencing this role,



a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au)
- Possess a manual driver’s license.
- Wear a uniform.
- Work a shift roster including weekends, public holidays and evening shifts if required.
- This position is classified as a Designated Fire Position under the Collective Agreement. Bushfire related activities, including bushfire suppression, is a mandatory component of the position. Appointment / promotion / transfer to the position is conditional upon successful completion of a nationally recognised firefighting task-based fitness assessment.

Highly Desirable:

- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Natural & Cultural Resource Management / Park Management.
