As our Senior Payroll Officer reporting to a Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for adequate coaching and training of Payroll Officers, taking lead of resolving complex queries and actively contributing to continuous improvement and project workshops as required. You will also be reviewing pay runs outcome for accuracy, completing Month-End payroll activities, and processing payrolls using SAP payroll system.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will lead payroll officers and ensure high level of accuracy and legislative requirements are achieved.

A few of your responsibilities:

- Act as a first point of contact for resolving complex and escalated payroll queries for internal Team Members and external customers
- Review completed payrolls for accuracy and act as a first payment authoriser at NAB for payrolls and other relevant payroll related third-party payments
- Providing on the job training and mentoring for Payroll Officers and act as a first point of escalation for queries by Payroll Team Members
- Participate in and actively contribute to internal workshops and payroll projects
- Complete Month-End payroll related activities




- Complete the production of monthly/fortnightly payrolls accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements and the Company policy and procedures
- Prepare PAYG and other third-party payments as per legislative requirement on a timely basis
- Develop a sound knowledge of Enterprise Agreement, statutory requirements, remuneration and benefits, and payroll/personnel administration policies and procedures

What we are looking for:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, HR or IT
- 3-5 years of payroll and/or payroll system management experience required
- Advanced knowledge of SAP or other ERP, and Word/Excel
- Considerable experience in a large payroll environment (1,000+ employees) in both a Salaried and Award environment
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within established processing timeframes and deadlines to complete tasks accurately, attention to detail essential
- Ability to analyse complex payroll situations and make recommendations
