Mining Edge Tech Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team, working onsite (4/3 days roster) and remotely (hybrid). This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and support Life of Mine forecasting and scheduling across various underground operations within Australia and globally, with exposure to multiple commodities. We're looking for enthusiastic UG mining engineers who want to work across a range of clients, bringing long-term commitment and accountability to every engagement.
We support flexible contracting arrangements, including individual ABN and PAYG options.
Key responsibilities
- Develop Life of Mine forecasts and schedules aligned with the annual budget
- Support the planning, scheduling and execution of underground mining activities
- Monitor and drive compliance with approved mine plans
- Undertake economic analysis, including cut-off grade evaluation and NSR scenario modelling
- Integrate block model updates into mine designs and sequencing based on geological interpretation
- Monitor operational performance and implement practical strategies to improve productivity,
efficiency and safety
- Identify operational risks, issues and opportunities, and take appropriate action to maintain performance
- Work closely with Mining Management, Technical Services, Maintenance and other key stakeholders to coordinate operational priorities and ensure planning outputs support execution requirements
- Lead, mentor and develop medium-term planning Mining Engineers, while driving continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining operations
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure accountability across underground mining teams
About You
- 5+ years' experience in underground mining engineering roles, with a strong focus on mine planning and design
- In-depth knowledge of mine engineering principles and best practice
- Proficient in mine planning software, including Deswik CAD and Deswik IS
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communicator, with a collaborative approach to working across cross-functional teams.
