AD Design + Consulting (ADDC) is a Tasmanian-owned and operated multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Hobart.

We work across State and Local Government and the private sector, delivering infrastructure projects from early planning and investigation through design and into construction support.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to take day-to-day ownership of delivery across our portfolio. Transport infrastructure will form a significant part of the role, but the opportunity is broader than any one sector or project type.

Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who fits the way ADDC operates: hands-on, commercially aware, collaborative, and always looking for a better way to deliver.

The role

You will work alongside a Project Director who holds the client relationship and commercial position, and a Design Manager who holds technical integrity.

You own delivery.

Those boundaries are not rigid. Senior people here are given room to take on more as they demonstrate they can carry it.

This is not an administrative PM role. We do not measure good project management by the quality of the reporting. We measure it by whether problems are identified early, decisions are made at the right level, the project remains commercially under control, and the client is never surprised.

Day to day, you will:

- Own the delivery programme, resourcing and critical path, identifying issues early and putting recovery plans in place before milestones are missed.
- Build and manage project budgets, expenditure and forecasts, with commercial issues identified while there is still time to act.
- Identify scope change, price variations and have the commercial conversation before the work is performed.
- Act as the day-to-day client contact and coordinate the people, agencies and subconsultants required to keep delivery moving.
- Own project risk and change, rather than simply administering the registers.
- Manage subconsultant scope, deliverables and commercial performance.
- Work closely with the Project Director and Design Manager to keep programme, commercial and technical risks aligned.





If you bring genuine design leadership experience, there is also scope to lead design direction, guide option development and chair design reviews. What you get to build

We have built our own project delivery toolset around the way we work, including automated reporting, project registers, estimating workflows and document review.

The aim is simple: spend less time on administration and more time managing projects.

It is not finished. This role will help shape where it goes next, including our project controls, reporting, and automation.

We are not looking to automate professional judgment. The PM still owns the outcome and makes the decisions.

When it works well, minutes go out the same day, monthly reporting explains the variance rather than simply showing it, and a PM can give a client a defensible order-of-magnitude cost while the discussion is still happening.

What you need

Essential

- Typically 10+ years of experience delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure or civil projects from inception through to construction support.
- Strong working knowledge of client governance and project delivery within Australian public infrastructure.
- Experience in front-end project development, including scope definition, business cases, funding submissions, planning and investigation studies.
- Strong project controls across scope, programme, cost, quality, risk and communication.
- Sound commercial judgement across fee proposals, budgets, forecasting and variations.
- Experience managing stakeholders and project issues through to completion.
- Clear, direct written and verbal communication.

Desirable

- Experience working with Tasmanian State Government agencies and their project delivery frameworks.
- A relevant qualification in engineering, project management, construction management or a related discipline.
- Experience with automated document, reporting, project control or estimating workflows.




- Contract administration experience under Australian standard forms, including superintendent-side administration.

The arrangement

Full-time, permanent is our preference. For the right person, we will consider a part time arrangement.
