Primary objective

Lead and coordinate policy, reform and strategic project activities that support the Future State Prisoner Health Project and broader departmental priorities. Undertake research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and project management activities to support evidence based decision making, service redesign and improved health outcomes in correctional settings.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate policy, reform and project activities supporting strategic departmental priorities and the Future

State Prisoner Health Project.

- Undertake research, analysis and environmental scanning to inform policy development, service redesign and reform initiatives
- Prepare high quality briefs, reports, submissions, governance papers and strategic advice for senior executives and stakeholders.




- Support the development of governance frameworks, accountability arrangements, models of care and service improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate stakeholder consultation processes and maintain productive relationships across government and external organisations.
- Monitor project risks, progress and deliverables and contribute to effective governance and reporting processes.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Relevant tertiary qualification in public health, policy, law, criminology, human services or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering policy, reform, strategy or service improvement initiatives in a complex workplace
- Highly developed research, analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop evidence based advice and recommendations
- High level written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive briefs, reports and correspondence
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including the ability to influence outcomes and work collaboratively across agencies
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, monitoring and delivery of complex projects and competing priorities.
- Knowledge of government policy and governance processes and the ability to translate strategic priorities into practical outcomes

Desirable

- Understanding of the Northern Territory justice, health or human services environment, including Aboriginal cultures and culturally safe service delivery approaches.
