Project Manager - Fire Protection

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing and highly professional fire protection organisation based in Brisbane.

This is a senior-level opportunity suited to a motivated Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing multiple projects, building strong relationships, and delivering quality outcomes.

Working across a range of fire protection projects, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from planning and tendering through to delivery and completion. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, internal teams and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and in accordance with contractual, quality and commercial requirements.

You will be managing five or more projects simultaneously, making strong organisation, communication and leadership skills essential.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of your assigned projects and be responsible for coordinating all aspects of project delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Lead project planning and coordination sessions.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently from commencement through to completion.
- Coordinate internal staff, resources, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and adjust programs and resources as required.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, site personnel, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing project documentation.
- Participate in the tendering process, including design, submission and review.
- Develop and implement project risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor construction progress and maintain project programs and forecasts.
- Prepare monthly project reports in conjunction with the Contract Administrator.




- Conduct project reviews and provide detailed reporting to senior management.
- Monitor project financial and physical targets.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of personnel, equipment and materials.
- Oversee the quality of project deliverables and ensure project procedures are followed.
- Ensure projects comply with contractual requirements, relevant legislation, statutory regulations, building codes and industry standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety across all projects.
- Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice to ensure works are completed using appropriate methods and materials.
- Monitor industrial relations and maintain positive working relationships with employees, subcontractors, trade unions and industry associations.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes, systems and overall project delivery.
- Proactively identify and communicate any issues that may impact project delivery or business operations.
- Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent commercial, organisational and people-management skills.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 5+ years' experience in Project Management, ideally within fire protection, construction or a related industry.
- A formal Project Management qualification is highly regarded.
- Advanced CAD experience.
- Experience with HYENA calculations.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, plans, regulations and relevant codes of practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

- The ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure environments.
- A commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to see both the detail and the bigger picture.
