**Shape the Future of Australia's Energy Network** At WSP, we're helping deliver the next generation of transmission infrastructure that will power Australia's energy transition. As our Power & Energy team continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced **Associate or Senior Electrical Engineer (EHV)** to provide technical leadership across major transmission and substation projects throughout Australia. Working on projects ranging from **330kV to 500kV** , you'll play a key role in delivering complex substation and transmission solutions while mentoring engineers and contributing to the technical excellence of our national team. **What You'll Do** In this client-facing technical leadership role, you will: + Lead the delivery of EHV/HV substation primary design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction support. + Provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to engineers across the Power & Energy business. + Undertake and review technical studies, design calculations, and engineering assessments. + Develop substation layouts, equipment arrangements, specifications, and design documentation. + Support project teams during design reviews, construction, commissioning, and project delivery phases. + Collaborate with clients, utilities, contractors, and key stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. + Contribute to proposals, business development activities, and technical capability initiatives across the business. + Support the development of innovative and technically robust solutions for major transmission infrastructure projects. **About You** You are a highly capable electrical engineer with extensive experience in transmission and substation design, backed by strong technical expertise and a passion for sharing knowledge with others.
You'll bring: + A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. + Significant experience delivering HV/EHV substation projects within the power, utilities, or energy sector. + Demonstrated expertise working on transmission infrastructure projects in the **330kV to 500kV** range. + Hands-on experience undertaking technical studies and engineering calculations, rather than solely reviewing third-party designs. + Strong knowledge of: + Conductor and busbar sizing + Short-circuit force calculations + Lightning protection design + Lighting design studies + Substation equipment layouts + High-voltage equipment specifications + HV cable sizing and associated calculations + Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. + A collaborative approach and desire to mentor and develop emerging engineers. **Why Join WSP?** At WSP, you'll join one of Australia's leading Power & Energy teams and work on some of the country's most significant transmission and renewable energy projects.
