Senior Sous Chef at Moonah Hotel, working alongside the Head Chef to run the kitchen. You'll be responsible for running shifts, managing the pass, and stepping up for the Head Chef when they're not around. The role involves keeping the kitchen tight, ordering, food cost, prep lists, and cleanliness. You'll train junior chefs to maintain standards and work with the Head Chef and wider team on menu development that fits the Mountain Culture way: good produce, done simply, with no fuss.
Key responsibilities
- Run shifts and manage the pass
- Step up for the Head Chef when they're not around
- Manage kitchen operations including ordering, food cost, prep lists, and cleanliness
- Train junior chefs to maintain kitchen standards
- Work with the Head Chef on menu development aligned with Mountain Culture values
About you
- A few years in a senior kitchen role already, sous chef or strong CDP ready to step up
- Ability to run a busy service without losing your cool
- Genuine care about food
- Ability to lead a team
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate preferable
