We are looking for an experienced Senior Computer Systems Officer to join a QLD government department. This is a senior technical role focused on the design, development, maintenance and support of complex Microsoft operating environments, endpoint and server platforms, Azure-integrated services and automation.

You’ll work across a broad Microsoft technology stack while providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, improving operational processes and helping build sustainable team capability.

As a Senior Computer Systems Officer, you will:

- Design, develop, maintain and troubleshoot solutions across Windows operating systems, endpoint and server platforms
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell and C# .NET
- Work across SCCM, Intune, Azure services and Microsoft Graph
- Develop scripts, tools, configuration items and Graph-based integrations to improve operational efficiency
- Investigate complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement pragmatic, supportable solutions
- Contribute to the design and improvement of departmental operating system and managed operating setting services
- Review technical designs, code, documentation and implementation approaches
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and constructive peer review




- Improve technical documentation, knowledge management and support processes
- Work closely with senior technical specialists and managers across infrastructure, applications and related ICT domains
- Support knowledge transfer, onboarding and capability uplift across the team

You’ll ideally bring strong experience across enterprise Microsoft environments, with particular strength in:
- Windows operating systems and server platforms
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- C# / .NET development
- SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Microsoft Intune
- Azure services
- Microsoft Graph
- Endpoint management and enterprise ICT platforms
- Technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Systems integration and automation
- Technical documentation and solution design

You will also demonstrate the ability to:
- Translate complex technical problems into practical solutions
- Design solutions that are maintainable, supportable and fit for purpose
- Review technical work and provide constructive feedback
- Mentor and support other technical team members
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work collaboratively across multiple ICT teams
- Contribute to process improvement and knowledge transfer
